If I Hold On, I Will Win

All alone in the world,
At least that's how she feels.
A life full of people,
Still an empty cart she wills.
Warm greetings are a thing of the past.
Empty promises and shallow words take their place.
The wise words of David enter her mind.
"Encourage yourself in the Lord,” then a brief change, her face.
The songs of the season should help,
But the relief they bring is brief.
Just one kind word, one small hug,
Could lead to a momentary relief.
Even if only momentary,
Some relief would be embraced.
Wanting to do evil for evil,
From her mind, must be quickly erased.
A kind answer turns away wrath,
That's what she's been taught.
But so far, that's not the way,
Only quietness and sluggish words are wrought.
She'll just keep on trying,
To do what she knows is right.
Perhaps in the end,
She won't give up the fight.
Only the Lord knows,
How this will end.
But she holds on to,
If I hold on, I will win.

Christmas Butterfly

Christmas Butterfly flutter by: Oh what a beautiful sight.
Christmas Butterfly flutter by: Oh that Silent Night.
Christmas Butterfly flutter by: The beauty that is red & green.
Christmas Butterfly flutter by: The wondrous Christmas scene.
Mama's here, cooking the food.
Dad's here, placing the firewood.
There's my sister, smiling with glee.
There's my boyfriend's, looking at the Christmas tree.
Christmas Butterfly flutter by: Oh what a beautiful sight.
Christmas Butterfly flutter by: Oh that Silent Night.
